Research Center Services

A selection of finding aids for Research Center archival collections can be found on our Finding Aids page. The finding aids assist in locating original documents in our collections related to specific subjects. If there are items you would like to view during a visit, please record the collection name, box, and folder number so that staff may retrieve the materials and have them ready for your review and study.

To browse our books, moving images, and audio materials, you can search our Library Catalog. Our books are non-circulating but can be reviewed by appointment in the Research Center. Our library currently has close to 35,000 books, including rare and folio books . There are nearly 5,000 audio and visual materials, including compact discs, DVDs, videocassettes, film reels, sound tape reels, sound cassettes, DV8s and mini-discs.

To order photographs or digital images from our collection, visit our Image Services page for infromation about ordering images and pricing and to complete the Still Image Request Form.

If you are unable to visit in person and want a staff person to research your topic in our collections, visit our Research Services page and complete the Research Services Agreement.

The Research Center is open to the public Monday through Friday, 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., and other hours by appointment, except for Federal holidays. If you have questions or wish to make an appointment, please contact us at (405) 478-2250, ext. 289, or email us at AskArchives@nationalcowboymuseum.org.
